In the last five years we have seen mobile phones technology making fast and enormous steps effectively putting in half million of users a brand new smart phone every quarter, as reported Gartners.

Keeping in mind this scenario, I would like to point our attention on a particular sector strictly related to the mobile phones market that could, or better will, dramatically impact the business opportunities for ICT partners.

This market is the one of the mobile phone applications. Despite they are simple little software often priced at very low price, not only do they get downloaded in millions form by the final users but they are now seen as an indispensable marketing tool.

MarketsandMarkets, a market research company founded in 2001, acknowledges this strong developing market dedicating to it a report applying a staggering value of $25 blillion by 2015.

This huge cake waits only to be eaten by fast reacting ICT partners who are willing today to engage teams able to develop bespoke application to their customers. Furthermore, in the SMB sector there is a great demand for those applications as they are considered as a status symbol for companies that wants to appear to their prospective clients as modern and effective. At Helios Marketing Solutions we receive during our lead generation campaigns, many enquiries about it. Having shared our EOCR (End Of Campaign Report) with our clients’ feedback, we have been commissioned to run explorative campaigns focussing only on the mobile application market. We have discovered that 46% of the lead converted into orders had also generated a subsequent order for more traditional ICT products.

It appears so evident that the mobile application offered to SMB is not only a great revenue stream with steady growth opportunities, but also a great tool to get into the supplier list for ICT products of many SMB users that otherwise would be acquired in a much harder way.

Purely from a telemarketing point of view it is worth mentioning that those campaigns are marginally cheaper than the traditional lead generating campaigns with higher conversion rate and the possibility of two tiered lead generation as described before.

The illusionist Mariano Tomatis has published this video on his website. The video is gone viral quite rightly achieving so far in excess of 670K clicks on You Tube. Can anyone explain this trick?
